Sales Teams
Sales Teams
The sales team in CTS is responsible for generating revenue for the business through engaging with customers to understand their problems, develop compelling proposals which solve them, and securing the orders for the work.
The team includes a range of customer-facing roles including phone and field-based sellers, key account managers, and estimators who produce the quotes. Typical tasks include speaking with or meeting customers, liaising with operational and technical teams, developing quotes and most importantly obtaining orders.
Quality Assurance Teams

The CTS Quality team is responsible for maintaining and improving the systems that ensure all testing and technical services meet UKAS, industry, and internal quality standards. Working closely with laboratory, site, and management teams, the Quality function plays a critical role in compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement across the business.
A typical day involves monitoring quality systems, supporting audits and accreditations, reviewing procedures and documentation, investigating non-conformances, and providing guidance and training to staff. The team also works with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and consistently delivered.
Site Teams
Site Teams
CTS site-based laboratory teams provide on-site construction materials testing and technical support on live projects across the UK. Working from project laboratories, teams carry out testing on materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with UKAS requirements.
A typical day includes registering and testing samples, maintaining and calibrating equipment, producing UKAS-accredited reports, and liaising with clients and site teams on technical queries. Site teams play a key role in upholding high standards of quality, health and safety, and professionalism on every project.

The CTS Chemistry Laboratory delivers chemical testing services for both internal and external clients, supporting a wide range of projects and regulatory requirements. Working in accordance with ISO 17025, MCERTS, and relevant British Standards, the team ensures all testing is carried out accurately, consistently, and to the highest quality standards.
A typical day involves scheduling and prioritising sample testing, preparing and extracting samples in line with documented procedures, operating analytical instruments, and reviewing results prior to report issue. The team also liaises with clients regarding sample collections, testing requirements, and turnaround times, ensuring clear communication and reliable service delivery.
Materials Testing Laboratory Teams
Materials Testing Laboratory Teams
The CTS laboratory team plays a key role in delivering accurate and timely construction materials testing to support projects across the UK. This role involves testing a range of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, in line with UKAS-accredited procedures.
Typical responsibilities include conducting on-site and laboratory-based testing in accordance with approved standards, ensuring the correct collection, identification, and traceability of samples, and producing accurate, well-documented test results. The role also requires the routine inspection and maintenance of laboratory and site equipment, strict adherence to quality and compliance procedures.
Support Functions Teams
Support Functions Teams
CTS offers a range of office-based and supervisory roles that support the efficient delivery of laboratory testing and client services. Responsibilities may include producing and managing test reports, handling client and internal enquiries, coordinating sample collections, and providing project and portal support.
These roles also support day-to-day business operations, including maintaining compliance standards, liaising with suppliers and contractors, managing equipment and PPE, supporting staff onboarding and training, coordinating travel and accommodation, and working closely with finance and senior management.
Laboratory supervisory positions additionally oversee laboratory staff and testing schedules, ensure quality and UKAS standards are met, review and issue reports, respond to client enquiries, and support the training and development of staff across all levels.
